Sarkhai was a world located in the Mid Rim Territories that was covered in thick woodlands. It was the homeworld of the Sarkhai people, known for painting their faces to protect themselves from predators that lurked in the forests. According to the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, the world was perfect for searching for all kinds of unique flora, including algae.[1]
Some time before 35 ABY,[2] Strono Tuggs traveled to Sarkhai and unearthed the ingredients necessary to cook Sarkhai Crisps. Tuggs would later include the recipe for the Crisps, as well a retelling of his journey to Sarkhai, in his cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook,[1] published by 35 ABY.[2] The world shared its name with the starship Moon of Sarkhai, used by the Path of the Open Hand,[3] in 382 BBY[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Sarkhai was first mentioned in the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak.[1] Sarkhai was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity in BioWare's 2011 massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[5]
