Scalefish were a variety of small fish native to the oceans, lakes, and swamps of Naboo, particularly around the Gungan city of Otoh Gunga.

It was believed the scalefish were attracted to the glowing lights of Otoh Gunga, though the scalefish learned through experience not to pass through the hydrostatic bubble structures into the air-filled interior.[1]

Most scalefish were deemed harmless, although the faa was carnivorous,[2] and the mee wielded a poisonous spine.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

The types of scalefish are named for the notes of a musical scale as expressed in solfège (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, and ti). There is a scalefish corresponding to each of these pitch names, though sol is replaced by si, which in solfège is sol raised a half step.
