- "Where is it?"
"Where's what?"
"The Darksaber. Does he have it?" - ―Bo-Katan Kryze demands answers from an Imperial captain
After Moff Gideon of the Galactic Empire took possession of the Darksaber from Lady Bo-Katan Kryze during the Great Purge of Mandalore,[3] Kryze launched a search for the mythical weapon to reclaim her lost station as the ruler of the planet Mandalore.[8] Her suspicions that Gideon still held the weapon were confirmed during an assault on a Gozanti-class Assault Carrier[7] in 9 ABY.[4] During the second rescue of Grogu, however, Child of the Watch Din Djarin would duel and best Gideon, unknowingly claiming the Darksaber for himself.[1] With the Darksaber out of her grasp, the Mandalorian warriors and fleet she had assembled abandoned her to become mercenaries.[6]
