Season of the Force is a Star Wars themed event that has taken place in multiple Disney theme parks around the world beginning in 2015.[1]
History[]
The first Season of the Force began at Disneyland in California on November 16, 2015, ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and included such additions as Disneyland's Hyperspace Mountain, the Star Wars Launch Bay exhibit, the Path of the Jedi movie montage, and Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.[1][2] During that same time, Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World held a number of similar events but despite some prior announcements[3], the "Season of the Force" name was not used there.[4] The first event at Disneyland lasted until September, 2016[5] and then returned there January to June of 2017, with new banners featuring characters from the entire saga spread throughout Tomorrowland.[6]

The 2018 event at Walt Disney Studios Park
A Disneyland Paris resort version was first held between January 14 and March 26, 2017 at Walt Disney Studios Park, with smaller events at Disneyland Park. It featured the nighttime show, Star Wars: A Galactic Celebration, that combined special effects, scenic action, and a sound and light show around the park to immerse visitors in the Star Wars saga. During the day, the visitors could also encounter various characters from the saga, including heroes and Stormtrooper patrols, and were given the option of either becoming Darksiders or joining Chewbacca and the Resistance.[7][8] It was held there a second time from January 13th to March 25th, 2018[9], which featured many of the same events with the addition of an exhibition of fan-made Star Wars vehicles.[10] The following year, Disneyland Paris held a similar event, now titled "Legends of the Force – A Celebration of Star Wars."[11]
Season of the Force returned to Disneyland California on April 5th, 2024 and ran until June 2nd, 2024. The start of the event coincided with the debut of additional Star Tours: The Adventures Continue scenes based on Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, and Andor, which also debuted at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Paris.[12][13] The 2024 event also introduced a new nighttime spectacular called Fire of the Rising Moons, an alternative way to experience the park's fireworks display from within the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land.[14]
