"According to the information you downloaded from Jzoro, the Elite Council has two bases outside of town."
Captain Baize, to a spacer[1]

The Second Elite Council Bunker was a bunker located on the planet Corellia during the Galactic Civil War. It served as the headquarters of the Chirq Council.

History[]

"Agent Klakk and myself are both investigating the Chirq Council, but have not had much luck infiltrating their compound. Maybe you could help?"
Agent Solso, to a spacer[2]

After the Battle of Yavin, the Second Elite Council Bunker was one of the two bunkers that served as headquarters of the Chirq Council, along with the First Elite Council Bunker. They were both located in isolated areas near the city of Doaba Guerfel and heavily defended. Five of the nine Chirq Council elite councilors were based in the Second Elite Council Bunker, Markus Gilder, Braganti Hooge, Koran Lassk, Janos Zarbo and Zuld Mar-Shayal, while the four others were based in the First Elite Council Bunker.[1] Two Chirq Council sub-councilors, Dain Pax and Tettsel Anker, were also based in the building.[2] The Second Elite Council Bunker was also used for the development of experimental heavy weapons,[3] as well as for the development of a new model of battle droids. Many of these Chirq Council Mechanized Guardians defended the building along with Chirq Council guards.[4]

In 1 ABY,[5] the Corellian Security Force started an investigation against the Chirq Council following the increase of ryll traffic on Corellia.[6] Captain Vitala Baize infiltrated a CorSec agent in Jzoro Quanera's Chirq Council cell in Doaba Guerfel. From Quanera's database, the CorSec obtained the identity of the nine elite councilors and the locations of their two secret headquarters.[7] The Corsec first raided the First Second Elite Council Bunker and killed half of the elite councilors. CorSec forces later assaulted the Second Elite Council Bunker and eliminated most of the guards of the buildings.[1] Following orders from Agents Chun Solso and Hurley Klakk, the CorSec agents also killed the Chirq Council sub-councilors Dain Pax and Tettsel Anker and destroyed the Chirq Council Mechanized Guardians during the raid.[4][2] They also destroyed the Chirq Council experimental heavy weapons as requested by the environmentalist Jaalib Rigel.[3] The CorSec eventually killed the second half of the elite councilors in the depths of the bunker. With the death of all the elite councilors during the CorSec assaults on the two Elite Council Bunkers, the Chirq Council splintered.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Second Elite Council Bunker appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[8] The Second Elite Council Bunker was added to the game with the update named "Chapter 1: The Corellian Captives," published on June 8, 2006.[9]

  5. According to its opening crawl, Star Wars Galaxies was set sometime after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The only precise time indication in the game was given by the character Ruwan Tokai, who referenced the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin as occurring one year earlier, placing the game sometime around 1 ABY. Later, multiple elements confirmed the placement of the game storyline in 1 ABY. First, The Essential Reader's Companion established that the tie-in novel Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine took place in 1 ABY. Furthermore, the game expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees was set during the Blockade of Kashyyyk, one year after the Battle of Yavin according to The Star Wars Holiday Special. Additionally, the main scenario of The Nightsister's Revenge from the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game was set over a year before the Battle of Hoth (3 ABY), so around 1.5 ABY. Finally, the reference book Strongholds of Resistance placed the events of Star Wars Galaxies's Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" one year after the Battle of Yavin. Of note, Galaxies's Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" introduced the Battle of Hoth in the game. However, the developers were quite clear that this was only intended to be a completely isolated "Star Wars Moment" without any effect on continuity for the rest of the game.
