"Oh, looks like the Security Director needs help with thugs."
"Good. Help him keep the station safe!"
―A spacer and Inaldra's Lieutenant[2]

A Human male served as the security director of Tansarii Point Station, a space station located above Ord Mantell, in the Bright Jewel system, during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Most of the cargo that was in there had been previously offloaded. They seem content to stay there, but that may not last. We cannot afford to let them run amok down there. Who knows what trouble they may cause?"
―The security director, to a spacer[1]

Following the Battle of Yavin, the security director worked out of the close combat training room of the station.[1]

In 1 ABY,[3] the security director was very concerned about Hutt pirates who had taken over one of the lower cargo holds of Tansarii Point Station. He therefore hired a spacer to deal with the problem. The spacer headed to the lower level of the station where he had to fight and kill ten Hutt minions in Cargo Bay 2. The spacer eventually returned to the security director who payed him with credits for the trouble.[1] Later, Station Master Inaldra resolved definitively the situation with the Hutts by ordering a spacer to eliminate the Hutt boss.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

The Security Director was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] The Security Director was added to the game as part of the "New Player Tutorial,"[1] introduced with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[6] Strangely, he was dressed with the outfit usually worn in the game by Naboo Police officers.[7]

  3. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
