- "Where do I know the name Selaggis from?"
"Another Zsinj strike zone. One of the first I looked at after I assumed command of this task force. One of the moons of Selaggis Six was colonized. I guess Zsinj decided to make a lesson of someone colonizing on his border without his permission. Iron Fist wiped out the whole colony. I think it would be very appropriate if he were wiped out in the same system." - ―Wedge Antilles and Han Solo
Selcaron was a moon of Selaggis VI located in the Quelii sector of the Outer Rim Territories.
Description[]
- "They're descending toward the west coast of the primary continent. I think that's where the colony used to be. Atmospheric conditions not helpful. Heavy rain, heavy winds."
- ―Kell Tainer, to Wedge Antilles
Selcaron was a moon located within the Selaggis system[3] of the Quelii sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It lay on the hyperlane known as the Braxant Run, which connected it to the Bandomeer and Vahaba systems.[2]
Selcaron was one of the moons of Selaggis VI, a gas giant that orbited the yellow star Selaggis. Its surface featured gray seas and brown soil.[3] The moon had a favorable climate that attracted colonists.[4]
History[]
- "Most of the Rogues and Wraiths received a communication from an unknown craft as we were departing Selcaron."
- ―Wedge Antilles
In 7 ABY, Selcaron was the location of a New Republic colony that was attacked by Warlord Zsinj,[5] who used his Super Star Destroyer, the Iron Fist, to obliterate the colony.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- "You saw what the Iron Fist did on Selaggis. It turned the whole colony into rubble."
- ―Han Solo
Selcaron was introduced in the 1994 novel The Courtship of Princess Leia, written by Dave Wolverton, which mentioned Selaggis as the location of a colony that was obliterated by Warlord Zsinj's Super Star Destroyer Iron Fist.[6]
Selaggis then appeared in the 1998 PC video game Star Wars: Rebellion, which described it as a planet with a "favorable climate that has attracted colonists."[4]
The 1999 novel X-Wing: Solo Command, written by Aaron Allston, later identified the planet as the gas giant Selaggis Six, and changed the location of the colony to one of its moons, Selcaron.[3]
