The Senate Defense Council, known also as the Defense Council or Council on the Common Defense, was a council of the New Republic Senate. The Defense Council was charged with the oversight of the Defense Force. The Council approved funding for the Defense Force, and approved the Supreme Commander.
During the Black Fleet Crisis, Behn-kihl-nahm was chair of the Defense Council. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Fyg Boras, Chau Feswin, and the Senator of Bilbringi sat on the Council.
