The Senate Guards were police officers with the Coruscant Security Force during the Cold War era. They were charged with the duty of protecting the Galactic Republic's Senate Building on the capital planet Coruscant. They shared this task with members of the Republic Military assigned to the Senate Building called Senate Security Officers.
History
The Coruscant Security Force (CSF) Senate Guards were police officers during the Cold War era assigned the duty of protecting both the Galactic Republic Senate Building on the capital planet Coruscant. They shared jurisdiction of protecting the Senate Building with members of the Republic Military called Senate Security Officers (SSO).[2]
Several officers were present at a inquiry by the Senate Defense Subcommittee on the events surrounding the defection of Havoc Squad.[3]
They were also present at a formal ceremony congratulating the Jedi Consular known as Barsen'thor.[3]
Both the CSF senate guards and the Senate Security Officers were eventually replaced by the more formalized, and separate, Senate Guard organization.[1]
