The Separatist Senate Building, also known as the Separatist Parliament Building, was located in Raxus Secundus' capital city, Raxulon, and served as the headquarters for the Senate of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.

Description[]

Ciscapitalcity

The building in the middle of the urban sprawl.

The Separatist Senate Building,[6] also known as the Separatist Parliament Building or Separatist Parliament headquarters, was an ornate building located at the heart of Raxulon,[7] located in the middle of the capital city.[4] The structure soared above the urban landscape,[7] with circular streets encompassing it and a plaza with trees nearly encompassed by the complex. Inside the main building was the Senate chamber, with rows of representatives seated on each side of the main podium. Count Dooku would appear in either hologram form or in person to preside over important decisions.[4]

The Separatist Senate building first appeared in "Heroes on Both Sides,"[4] the tenth episode of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' third season, which aired on November 19, 2010.[8] While not named in the episode itself, the building was identified in a piece of concept art released as part of the accompanying Episode Guide on StarWars.com.[6] Concept art of the Separatist Senate Building's exterior was drawn by Pat Presley, who took inspiration from art by Ralph McQuarrie.[9]

Notes and references[]

  1. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Heroes on Both Sides" to 21 BBY.
  2. SWYTlogo Star Wars: The Clone Wars Legacy on the official Star Wars YouTube channel (backup link)  (Posted on StarWars.com) showcases Count Dooku speaking from a Raxulon balcony, which is identical to the Raxulon balcony seen in "Common Ground." Dooku's speech was adapted into the novel Dark Disciple, which identifies the area before the balcony as Raxulon's plaza square. As "Common Ground" depicts this area and shows the balcony to be part of the Separatist Senate Building, the building must be located at the plaza square.
