Following the end of the Clone Wars and the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in 19 BBY, a Separatist holdout of reactivated Separatist droids was founded on the planetoid PM-6986, located in the Anaxes asteroid belt. Led by the tactical droid JF-86, the holdout sought to launch an attack on the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic, but was unable to leave the planetoid and remained unaware of the galactic transition that had occurred.

A remnant of former Confederacy of Independent Systems droids that had once served within the forces of Harch Separatist Admiral Trench during the Battle of Anaxes near the end of the Clone Wars, the holdout was led by the tactical droid JF-86. Located on the planetoid PM-6986 in the Anaxes asteroid belt, which was formed from the cataclysmic destruction of the planet Anaxes near the war's end, the holdout utilized a former Separatist stronghold as its base of operations.[1]

The holdout was formed at some point after[1] the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the subsequent end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY.[2] After being reactivated by a Separatist signal that originated light-years away, JF-86 reactivated the droid complement and sought to carry out its final order: Attack the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic. Despite not having a transport to leave the planetoid, the tactical droid planned and waited to launch its attack. Unbeknownst to JF-86, the Republic had been replaced by the Galactic Empire.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The PM-6986 Separatist holdout was mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the mission to Mustafar, which resulted in the destruction of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, to 19 BBY. As Dawn of Rebellion establishes that the Separatist holdout on PM-6986 was founded after the Confederacy's destruction, it must have been founded during or after 19 BBY.
