A Separatist holdout was formed at some point after[1] the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and subsequent end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY.[2] The holdout was located on the planetoid PM-6986 in the Anaxes asteroid belt—the location of a former Separatist stronghold—which was formed from the cataclysmic destruction of the planet Anaxes near the end of the war. The holdout consisted of a droid complement that once served within the Harch Admiral Trench's forces during the Battle of Anaxes, and had managed to survive the aftermath of both the battle and the cataclysm. They were later reactivated by the tactical droid JF-86, who had previously been activated by a Separatist signal that originated light-years away.[1]
JF-86 sought to rebuild the holdout's forces and carry out its final order: attack the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic. Despite not having a transport to leave the planetoid, the tactical droid planned and waited to launch its attack. Unbeknownst to JF-86, the Republic had been replaced by the Galactic Empire.[1]

The PM-6986 Separatist holdout was mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.[1]
