The Separatist super-tank prototype,[3] simply the super tank, was the culmination of an attempt by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars to produce a new type of tank. No known weapon was able to penetrate the tank's heavy armor and ray shield technology. Such defenses made the tank slow, yet robust. They were manufactured by Baktoid Armor Workshop[1] and were first deployed during the Second Battle of Geonosis.
The group that had been deployed in the battle were destroyed when a bridge sabotaged by Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Luminara Unduli collapsed. The remaining prototypes were destroyed when Jedi padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee destroyed the Geonosians' droid factory using the weaponry on a tank that they had commandeered. Though they were inside the factory at the time, both padawans survived due to the tank's heavy armor.[2]
