- "I was told you could teach me to fly."
- ―A spacer, to Serissu
Serissu was a female Bothan who worked as a pilot trainer for the Car'das.[1]
Biography[]
- "We're not sure what they are doing there but it doesn't matter, pirates are not welcome here! I need you to fly out there and chase off any Black Sun Pirates you find."
- ―Serissu, to a Car'das pilot
Serissu was a well-trained pilot for the Car'das. After the Battle of Yavin, she was based on Tansarii Point Station, in the Bright Jewel system, along with Laetin A'shera, Aleas Rans'ery and Dartas Pytin. Serissu served as pilot recruiter and trainer.[1]

Serissu in her M3-A Scyk fighter
In 1 ABY,[3] Serissu recruited several spacers to become pilots for Car'das. She provided them M3-A Scyk fighters and taught them basic starfighter piloting skills. The new pilots performed successful missions, including a patrol near Station Gamma,[1] a dogfight against Black Sun pirates around an abandoned space hulk,[2] and an escort of a Car'das officer. The new pilots were finally assigned to fight in the Battle of Tansarii Point Station under the orders of Laetin A'shera.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Serissu appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] Serissu was added to the game as part of the "New Player Tutorial,"[1] introduced with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[6]
Serrisu gave the player an M3-A Scyk fighter to use during the piloting tutorials. She gave players the first quests involving space flight, including basic things as piloting, docking, contacting space stations, fighting enemy ships and escorting friendly ships.[1][2] After completing her missions, players could talk to Laetin A'shera to get more difficult space missions.[4]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
