Shadow wing was a TIE/LN starfighter wing within the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War.[1] One of Shadow wing's pilots was PS-29-2—nicknamed "Mynock"—who flew under the call sign of Shadow Two, operating and tweaking the control systems of[2] a TIE/LN starfighter used to enforce blockades, which had exquisite handling for slashing attacks on unescorted transports and freighters.[3] PS-29-3—nicknamed "Hammer"—was another TIE pilot of Shadow wing.[4] Flying under the call sign of Shadow Three,[5] PS-29-3 intended to eventually lead Shadow wing,[4] and likewise his starfighter had a command system capable of coordinating the entire Shadow wing's combined power.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Imperial Shadow wing was created in 2001's Premiere expansion set of Decipher, Inc.'s Jedi Knights Trading Card Game. While it was simultaneously introduced by the cards for Shadow Three,[1] PS-29-3,[4] Shadow Two,[3] and PS-29-2,[2] only the first[1] and second card in this sentence mentioned the wing by name.[4]
