Shawda club sandwiches were a type of sandwich which could be served on toasted or therm-zapped bread. Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the sandwich was served in Dex's Diner, an eatery on the planet Coruscant. The diner served the sandwich for 6.7 credits and described it as delicious on the menu.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Shawda club sandwiches were created by Gregory Walker for "Dining at Dex's", a Star Wars Legends article published on the Hyperspace section of StarWars.com in 2009. The article spelled the sandwich's name "Shawda Clubb sandwich," a pun referencing the Legends Shawda Ubb species and real-world club sandwiches.
The sandwich was made canon in 2015, when it appeared as new content in a reissue of What is a Wookiee?, a reference book previously released in 2005. The book identified a sandwich that had appeared in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones as Shawda club sandwich.
