The She'ar were a sub-group of the Nihil pirate organization who were devotees of the Eye of the Nihil, Marchion Ro. Sometime between 231 BBY and 230 BBY, Ro chose seven of the Nihil's best warriors to form the She'ar, telling them a story about the storm planet Everon, the homeworld his species, the Evereni, to explain the name. He then took the She'ar on a mission to the mysterious Planet X to retrieve members of the Nameless species to use against the Jedi Order. Afterward, the group attended to him frequently and were with him on Hetzal Prime in 229 BBY. By that time, Arathab Fal had become a member of the She'ar.

According to the Nihil spy Nan, after an assassination attempt resulted in the death of Fal, Ro began to see less value in the group.
