Shea Ganandra, also known as Mari, was a Force-sensitive human female who was a talented engineer and was a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult and its subgroup the Children of the Open Hand. Her Force-sensitivity came into being due to exposure to the world of Planet X, with her powers vanishing after she departed.
Biography[]
In 382 BBY,[4] during the Battle of Jedha, she and the rest of the Children under the leadership of the Herald of the Open Hand searched and raided many locations in the Holy City in search of the Rod of Daybreak. They eventually located it in a vault underneath the Final Protector Jedi statue that had fallen during the battle, but they were discovered by Jedi Knight Vildar Mac and Sephi thief Tey Sirrek. The Herald ordered Shea to stop the attackers alongside a fellow member of the Children, a Lasat named Barkov.[1][2] After the tide of the fight turned against them, Ganandra escaped with Yana Ro, another member of the Children.[2]
Ganandra joined a mission to the hidden world of Planet X in pursuit of Nameless eggs. Prolonged exposure to the world resulted in her developing Force powers despite the Path's ideals. After leaving Planet X, her Force powers seemed to vanish.[2]
