A shipwomb was a facility used to grow and assemble Yuuzhan Vong ships, analogous to a mechanical shipyard. These facilities were usually carved out of the ruins of destroyed or conquered worlds. Sernpidal held one within its remains after that world's moon crashed into it. They used dovin basals to 'mine' material from a world's sun.
