Shurr was a gas giant planet with fourteen moons. It held the seventh orbital position around the star Kashyyyk. Shurr and its star were located within the Kashyyyk system, a part of the Mytaranor sector positioned in the Kashyyyk Region, in the Slice portion of the Mid Rim.[1]
The Kashyyyk system, and by extension Shurr, rested on the intersection of several hyperlanes. These included the Great Kashyyyk Branch, which connected Shurr to the Balamak system and the system containing Torn Station, while the Randon Run linked the planet to the Uyter and the Rakhuuun systems. Shurr was also connected to the Kwookrrr and Tholatin systems by the Durkteel Loop and the Nightroad hyperlanes, respectively.[1]

Shurr was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed the Kashyyyk system, and therefore Shurr, in grid square P-9.[1]
