A Sienar test pilot[2] was a type of pilot who flew prototype experimental starfighters for Sienar Fleet Systems. They wore a red and black uniform with a chestpiece similar to that of shoretrooper armor and a unique flight helmet, and carried a SE-14r light repeating blaster for self-defense.[1]

Cassian Andor undercover at Sienar Test Facility 73
In 4 BBY, rebel agent Cassian Jeron Andor of the Axis network infiltrated Sienar Test Facility 73 on the company planet 73, posing as a test pilot in order to steal[1] the prototype[3] TIE Avenger. Although he was successful in taking the craft, he was forced to crash land on Yavin 4 due to being unfamiliar with his controls. There, his uniform caused the suspicions amongst the stranded Maya Pei Brigade, whose members did not believe Andor was a rebel agent and instead, largely due to his uniform, assumed he was an Imperial pilot. As such, Andor was held captive[1] and found himself continuing to wear the outfit, even as the May Pei Brigade collapsed into a turf war. Ultimately, Andor would manage to escape from the ongoing turf war as the Maya Pei remnant was attacked by a Yavinian doodar[4] and made his way to the planet Mina-Rau to rescue his Ferrixian friends Brasso, Bix Caleen, B2EMO, and Wilmon Paak.[5]
