Sig was a notoriously inaccurate blaster gas that produced armor-piercing shots. Due to its ability to puncture armor, it was almost banned and became a favored by criminals several centuries before the outbreak of the Clone Wars. At that time the Galactic Republic's Bureau of Sig, Spice, and Slavery was formed to combat organized crime.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Sig was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[1] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in Galaxy Guide 2: Yavin and Bespin, an 1989 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2]
