Silya Shessaun was a human female who served as a senator in the Galactic Republic's senate during the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. She was an ally of Senator Padmé Amidala of the planet Naboo and attended her funeral.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Silya Shessaun was a character originally intended to appear in the film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith portrayed by publicity assistant Lisa Shaunessy, but her scenes did not make it into the final cut of the film. The name "Silya Shessaun" is derived from an anagram of the name "Lisa Shaunessy[2] and was originally revealed in a blog post on the blog made on December 8, 2004.[3] The character was confirmed to be canon by the reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, which was written by Adam Bray, Tricia Barr and Cole Horton[1] and released on April 4, 2017.[4]
