- "My previous research into the ancient lore of both the Jedi and the Sith often found references to a prophesied individual. The Jedi called them "the Chosen One" while fragments of Sith writing make mention of the coming of the "Sith'ari." Both of these legends share certain details and aspects regarding the coming of one who was born of the Force itself and who would wield tremendous power."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Sith'ari was a prophesied individual of tremendous power in Sith lore, believed to be one who would be conceived of the Force itself and lead them to glory. The historian Beaumont Kin believed these prophecies to be analogous to the Jedi foretelling of a "Chosen One" meant to bring balance back to the Force.[1]
Kin supported[1] his[2] suspicions with an annotated scroll found by the Exegol Excavation Project on the formerly Sith-controlled planet Exegol which suggested that Darth Sidious, a Dark Lord of the Sith and former Galactic Emperor, believed that the foretold Sith'ari was Anakin Skywalker, later the Sith Lord Darth Vader. This fit Kin's belief,[1] as Skywalker was the Chosen One of the Jedi.[3] Kin included his theory on the Sith'ari in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1] in 35 ABY.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, the Sith'ari was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1] The title originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first used in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
