"The day this fleet launches, freedom dies in the galaxy."
Beaumont Kin[src]

The Sith Eternal fleet, also known as the Sith fleet, was a massive fleet of the Final Order and Sith Eternal that was active during the war between the First Order and the Resistance.

Composition

The Sith Eternal fleet was composed of hundreds of the Final Order's Xyston-class Star Destroyers and TIE/dg starfighters. In 35 ABY, it was commanded by Allegiant General Enric Pryde, after he pledged to serve Darth Sidious' Final Order, from his Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Steadfast.[1]

History

The fleet, its warships too numerous for a simultaneous exit from Exegol without a guiding navigational beacon, relied on a navigational signal to operate their initial launch from the Sith world. A navigational tower on the planet existed to fulfill that purpose.[1]

However, at least one Xyston-class Star Destroyer, the Derriphan, was successfully transferred from Exegol to the wider galaxy. In the aftermath of the Resistance's mission to Kijimi, the Derriphan was sent to Kijimi, where it fired its axial superlaser at the planet and obliterated it.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Sith Eternal fleet was first seen in a trailer released at D23 2019 on August 24, 2019 for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker film. The trailer was officially released to the public on August 26, 2019.[3]

  2. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary dates the events of Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker as taking place one year after the "Starkiller Incident." As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the Starkiller Incident to 34 ABY, it can be deduced that the events of Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker take place in 35 ABY and that the Sith Eternal fleet was formed prior to 35 ABY.
