Sith Rising is the second expansion for the Star Wars Trading Card Game from Wizards of the Coast. It is based on the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, while also introducing elements from the film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Sith Rising was released in July 2002.

Sith Rising contains 90 cards, including 30 each of the rare, uncommon, and common variety. The expansion focuses on the powers of the dark side of the Force and introduces such new characters as Darth Maul and Mace Windu.

New abilities[]

  • Stun - reduces power of the unit your unit attacks until the end of turn
  • Overload - unit can make additional damage, but it also damages itself

Development[]

Sith Rising was released in July 2002,[2] in advance of that year's Gen Con tabletop-game convention.[3] The expansion had originally planned to ship to distributors on July 31, 2002.[4]

Wizards of the Coast showcased Sith Rising, along with demos of the Star Wars Trading Card Game, at San Diego Comic-Con in August 2002.[5]
