- "It is said that millennia ago, the Chiss adventured into Lesser Space, taking part in wars between two hostile factions over vast and ever-shifting regions."
- ―"Jixtus"
The Sith Wars (c. 5000 BBY–1032 BBY) were a series of conflicts,[2] including the Great Hyperspace War,[8] Great Sith Wars,[9] Great Sith War[11] and the Jedi-Sith War,[4] that were fought for control of the galaxy.[17]
Around 3650 BBY,[2] the Chiss species become involved in the wars of the Galactic Republic[2] and the Sith Empire. The Chiss Ascendancy encountered a number of aliens before retreating to their borders[1] around 3450 BBY.[2]
Cervil the Uncanny, a Jedi who fought in the conflict, left behind testimonies about members of the Jedi Order using lightwhips in order to defend against Forbidden Forms used by the Sith.[18] The Forbidden District located on the planet Exegol housed derelict shipyard forges that dated back to the Sith Wars.[17] Vurk Jedi Master Harli Cogra's book Chronicles of the Jedi, written in the weeks following the destruction of Starlight Beacon[19] in 230 BBY[2] made mention of the ancient wars between the Jedi and Sith.[19]
