- "It is said that millennia ago, the Chiss adventured into Lesser Space, taking part in wars between two hostile factions over vast and ever-shifting regions."
- ―Jixtus
The Sith Wars were a series of conflicts fought for control of the galaxy[10] between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. The Chiss Ascendancy also participated in the conflicts, and encountered a number of aliens before retreating to their borders.[1] Cervil the Uncanny, a Jedi who fought in the conflict, left behind testimonies about members of the Jedi Order using lightwhips in order to defend against Forbidden Forms used by the Sith.[11] The Forbidden District located on the planet Exegol housed derelict shipyard forges that dated back to the Sith Wars.[10]
Behind the scenes[]
The Sith Wars were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2016 reference book Nexus of Power.[7]
In Star Wars Legends, the Sith Wars were first mentioned, albeit indirectly, in the 2004 Obsidian Entertainment video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.[12] The struggle first appeared in the 2009 webcomic The Old Republic, Threat of Peace Act 1: Treaty of Coruscant,[13] and was first identified in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, written by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[14]

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising
- ↑ Star Wars (2015) 9 states that the Sith were born from the Hundred-Year Darkness. Therefore, the Sith Wars must have taken place after the Hundred-Year Darkness.
- ↑ The Star Wars Book places the supposed destruction of the Sith, which occurred during the Jedi-Sith war according to Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy, to 1,032 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas states that A New Hope begins in 0 BBY, the Sith's supposed destruction, along with the end of the Sith Wars, must have occurred in 1,032 BBY.
