The Sith sniper rifle was a type of modified blaster rifle used by the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War against the Galactic Republic. One such blaster rifle was owned by[1] the Human female[2] Kebla Yurt in 3956 BBY.[3] She had the weapon in stock at her Equipment Emporium in the Upper City of the Outer Rim planet Taris. Unlike much of her other weaponry, the sniper rifle was not confiscated by the Sith when they occupied and quarantined the ecumenopolis.[1] In the same year,[3] Sith sniper rifles were present at the Sith Academy on the Outer Rim planet Korriban and the Sith-occupied Temple of the Ancients,[1] located in the Unknown Regions[4] on the Rakatan homeworld Lehon.[1]
The modified rifle functioned as an effective sniper rifle, costing 1,500 credits. Despite its potency, the rifle saw only sparse use by the Sith, who preferred more close-range combat.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Sith sniper rifle first appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare. It is found in containers the player is not required to open, and is also sold by Kebla Yurt, a non-player character whose interactions are optional and do not affect plot or alignment.[1]
