The Sith war droid Mark I model was utilized by the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War.
Characteristics
The Mark I Sith war droid moved on four legs, and was armed with arm–mounted dual blaster cannons. They bore a strong resemblance to the droidekas employed thousands of years later by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. They appear to walk at a rather slower pace than other droids deployed at the time, most likely due to their heavy armor plating. On the contrary, Sith War Droids are capable of crossing much more rugged terrain than most regular droids of its time due to the pointed ends on their legs.
Unlike droidekas, Sith war droids do not possess a shield or any primary defense.
History
Darth Malgus deployed these droids alongside Sith Warriors to battle Republic forces during the Battle of Alderaan and later during the Sacking of Coruscant.
Behind the scenes
Production renders by Blur Studio rendering artist Alessando Baldasseroni label the droid as Colicoid Droid.[1] Following the rebranding of the Expanded Universe into Star Wars Legends, a droid similar to the Sith war droid Mark I appeared in the canon comic story "The Misadventures of Triple-Zero and Beetee," which was published in the twentieth issue of the comic series Star Wars: Darth Vader.[2]
