- "That's a starship. A Mon Calamari battle cruiser. Wait, did it crash here?"
"During one of the last battles of the Galactic Civil War. There was a skirmish nearby, and that ship was forced to flee. But its hyperdrive was damaged, and it fell out of lightspeed too close to this world." - ―Lando Calrissian and Komat
Around 5 ABY,[2] a skirmish was fought near the planet Polaar between the New Republic and Galactic Empire as one of the final battles of the Galactic Civil War. During the skirmish, a Republic Mon Calamari battle cruiser was forced to flee, though because its hyperdrive was damaged the cruiser fell out of lightspeed too close to Polaar and crashed onto the planet.[1] In 21 ABY,[3] the former Acolyte of the Beyond Komat informed the former Rebel Alliance general Lando Calrissian of the battle after the latter saw the cruiser on Polaar and asked if it had crashed there.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The skirmish near Polaar was mentioned in the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith, written by Adam Christopher.[1]
