Slave Quarters Row, commonly known as the Mos Espa Slave Quarters was a crowded section of Mos Espa on Tatooine.
Slave Quarters Row was situated on the outskirts of the spaceport, and was one of Mos Espa's poorest areas. The row was lined with cheap hovels originally built by the mining companies who first colonized Tatooine. These hovels were home to slaves of such prominent Mos Espa figures as Gardulla the Elder and the junk-dealer Watto. The hovels used outdated bio-converter power generators that converted sludge from the underground pipelines into natchgas to fuel the hovels' limited power needs.
Anakin Skywalker lived out his childhood years with his mother in Slave Quarters Row, along with his friends Kitster Chanchani Banai, Amee, Melee and Seek. The Skywalker hovel was a conglomerate of three separate hovels, though this was not generosity on their master Watto's part; the Toydarian simply could not afford any more slaves to fill his hovels.
In 8 ABY Leia Organa Solo visited Slave Quarters during the search for the famous and missing moss painting, Killik Twilight.
