A swamp slug

A slug was a type of slow-moving gastropod creature. Sea-slugs, sand slugs, brain slugs, and swamp slugs were types of slugs. The silicon-based Exogorths were also known as "space slug."

The smuggler Han Solo once compared Imperial-class Star Destroyers to slugs after besting them in speed with his freighter, the Millennium Falcon.
