"SmartTranq" was a type of synthetic tranquilizer produced by the company Field Sports, in cooperation with the Corellian Chemical Corporation, for use in Field Sports' slugthrower, the Model 77 air rifle. The chemical contained an active ingredient, which when introduced to a target's bloodstream, began to mutate and adapt constantly. The mutation ensured optimal effectiveness in overcoming targets' immune systems and rendering them unconscious whatever their species. "SmartTranq" was available during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire, and could be added to replace the standard tranquilizer found in the dart ammunition of the Model 77 air rifle for AurebeshSans-Serif credit.png500.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The "SmartTranq" was mentioned in Enter the Unknown, a sourcebook written by Andrew Fischer and released in 2013 for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game.[1]
