Snot was a simple game that was easy to learn. The Gamorrean guard Gartogg, due to a lack of intellect, was unable to learn how to play the game by 4 ABY. That year, the Gran Ree-Yees knew this and took advantage of the Gamorrean's shortcoming to draw potential attention away from himself and the death of the Human scullion Phlegmin.
Behind the scenes
Snot was first mentioned in Deborah J. Ross's short story "Goatgrass: The Tale of Ree-Yees", published in the anthology book Tales from Jabba's Palace in 1995. In real life, snot is a uncouth term for nasal mucus.
