The sonic scope was a type of scope that was developed to overcome personal cloaking devices and other sensor-baffling defenses by using ultrasonic sound waves to detect targets and generate visual representations. When properly calibrated, its sonar waves could be set to pass through even duracrete and other solid surfaces. The scope costed 1,500 credits, and could be attached to any ranged or heavy weapon.
