Sorgan was a breathable, forested swamp planet located in the Outer Rim Territories. With a small native population, it was the only inhabitable object in its system. In 9 ABY, it was home to a Klatooinian tribe, which frequently raided a small krill farming village. The raids were eventually put to a stop by the combined efforts of mercenaries Din Djarin and Carasynthia Dune, along with the villagers.

In 18 ABY, a cell of the Spice Runners of Kijimi smuggler gang resided in a camp on Sorgan. After the New Republic tracked down the cell during a mission, the cell's leader, Tomasso, moved its remaining members to other Outer Rim locations in order to protect them.

The only inhabitable object in a star system situated deep within the Outer Rim Territories,^[1] Sorgan was a planet with a breathable atmosphere.^[2] It was covered in forests,^[2] dense swamps,^[1] and lakes. The planet was home to a variety of native creatures, including frogs, krill, and grinjer.^[2]

Confrontation at the common house[]

"Well, this has been a real treat, but unless you want to go another round, one of us is going to have to move on, and I was here first."

Sorgan Bar The Mandalorian — Djarin encountered Carasynthia Dune, a former shock trooper of the New Republic, on Sorgan.

During the time of the New Republic, Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, simply known as "the Mandalorian," fled to Sorgan to escape the Bounty Hunters' Guild after a confrontation on^[2] the Outer Rim world^[6] of Nevarro^[2] around 9 ABY.^[7] With Grogu in tow, Djarin traveled to Sorgan hoping to find a safe, temporary home for the child. Shortly after arriving, Djarin had a brief confrontation with ex-New Republic shock trooper Carasynthia Dune outside of a common house where the duo had been eating. Dune and Djarin parted ways, stating that the planet wasn't big enough for them both to stay.^[2]

Defending the village[]

"You got two problems here. You got the bandits, and you got the mech. We'll handle the AT-ST, but you have to protect us when they come out of the woods. And I don't have to tell you how dangerous they are."

Shortly after the confrontation, Djarin was approached by two native krill farmers, who pleaded for his assistance in fighting off a group of Klatooinian raiders that had plagued their village. After some convincing, Djarin agreed and approached Dune once again, asking for her assistance. The two mercenaries accompanied the villagers, along with Grogu, to the village. While scouting out the area surrounding the village, Dune and Djarin discovered All Terrain Scout Transport tracks. They attempted to encourage the villagers to leave, but the natives elected to stay in their ancestral home. Instead of leaving, Dune and Djarin began teaching the villagers to use blasters to defend themselves and provide support against the raiders. After developing a plan to defeat the AT-ST Raider walker, the two mercenaries drilled with the villagers in order to prepare for the next raid.^[2]

Once Dune and Djarin felt that the villagers were sufficiently prepared, the duo stealthily attacked the raiders' outpost, thinning enemy numbers and drawing the Klatooinians towards the village. As expected, the raiders pursued the mercenaries with their AT-ST, and engaged with the villagers, resulting in casualties on both sides. Dune and Djarin attempted to lure the AT-ST to the pre-dug hole they had ordered to be made, but the walker stopped just short of it. The villagers rushed out to defend the pinned mercenaries, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the raiders. While still taking fire, Dune used Djarin's Amban sniper rifle to draw the walker closer, taking potshots until it fell into their trap and was destroyed, causing the retreat of the raiders.^[2]

Djarin intended to stay on Sorgan with Grogu, but the appearance of a bounty hunter in possession of a tracking fob for Grogu forced his hand. The Kubaz hunter had been able to proceed as far as aiming a shot at Grogu, but was killed by Dune before he was able to fire. After this close call, Djarin decided to leave the planet for Grogu's safety, as well as the villages'. Before leaving Sorgan, the Mandalorian exchanged farewells with Cara Dune and Omera, a villager Djarin had become close with over his time at the village.^[2]

Shortly after his departure from the planet, Din Djarin returned to the common house on Sorgan with Grogu to recruit the aid of Carasynthia Dune against an Imperial warlord that had taken over Nevarro. Djarin found her competing in a fight ring for sport, with a group of rowdy spectators gambling on the outcome. Although Dune was reluctant to come to the Mandalorian's aid, she changed her mind when he revealed that they would be fighting against an ex-Imperial warlord.^[4]

In 18 ABY,^[8] a cell of the smuggler gang known as the Spice Runners of Kijimi operated from a camp on Sorgan. The cell was led by the high-ranking Spice Runner Tomasso and included Zorii Bliss, the daughter of the gang's leader, Zeva Bliss, as well as gang members Marinda Gan, Gen Tri, and Vigilch.^[1] In that year,^[8] the young pilot Poe Dameron joined the Spice Runners, flying their XS stock light freighter, the Ragged Claw, from the moon Yavin 4 to Sorgan, assuming their stop was merely temporary.^[1]

The cell operated out of Sorgan for around a month, undertaking numerous missions. After one mission to the planet Quintil, in which the cell rescued Tomasso, Dameron returned the smugglers to Sorgan aboard the Ragged Claw by hyperspace skipping in order to evade members of the rival Zualjinn Syndicate. After repairing the light freighter, Dameron and Bliss briefly left Sorgan so that the latter could practice flying the vessel, but were called back to the surface by Tomasso.^[1]

During a further mission aboard a Moraysian cruiser, Vigilch was killed, and Officer Sela Trune of the New Republic Security Bureau managed to track down the Spice Runner cell, forcing Dameron and Bliss to escape and leave Gan and Tri behind on the cruiser. Dameron had Bliss and the EV-series droid EV-6B6 return to Sorgan aboard a BTL-S3 Y-wing starfighter and followed in the Ragged Claw shortly afterward. Following the mission, the cell departed from Sorgan, traveling to various safe houses across the Outer Rim to avoid the New Republic.^[1]

Inhabitants[]

An underdeveloped planet with minimal governance and a mostly agrarian society,^[1] Sorgan had a low population density and was home to simple human farmers who resided in villages.^[2] It was estimated to have less than 10,000 inhabitants.^[5] A common house on Sorgan was owned by^[2] Dara Vish,^[5] who was welcoming to newcomers such as Din Djarin and Carasythia Dune^[2] in 9 ABY.^[7] The local tribe of Klatooinian raiders were more advanced than their human counterparts, making use of machinery and weapons such as an AT-ST, an anti-infantry walker used by the Galactic Empire, to terrorize and loot the local villages.^[2]

Sorgan had no large settlements, industrial centers, or star ports. The planet was home to a common house that served as a hub for visitors, which served bone broth and spotchka,^[2] and hosted a fighting ring for entertainment.^[4] Further into the wilderness, a village of krill famers resided. For a period^[2] around 9 ABY,^[7] the village was raided by a Klatooinian tribe, who had set up a base camp near the farms. As part of their plan to repel the raiders, Djarin and Dune snuck into the camp and caused chaos, hoping to lure out the walker.^[2] In 18 ABY,^[8] a cell of the Spice Runners of Kijimi operated from a camp on Sorgan.^[1]
