Southern Rim NavHaz[1] was a scientific[2] agency that monitored hyperspace navigational hazards in the southern portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was in existence by the time of the New Republic.[3]
Ison, a star system in the Outer Rim's Greater Javin region, was enclosed by nebula wisps that made hyperspace travel through the area risky. Southern Rim NavHaz reported that within a few centuries[1] these coalescing gases and debris would effectively close the Rimward end of the Ison Corridor hyperlane, rendering the route obsolete.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Southern Rim NavHaz agency was created for "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," a 2004 Wizards of the Coast online supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[1]
