"Speaking Silently" is a Clone Wars short story written by Jason Fry with art by Tom Hodges. Originally planned as part of The Essential Guide to Warfare, it was cut before publication and reworked to be published in January 2013's Star Wars Insider 139.
Plot summary[]
On Ereesus, several soldiers have been captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Clone trooper captain Rex meets with local militia members who ask him to see the hologram of the captured soldiers. They reveal they are Lorrdians who can read signs from the captured soldiers. They use the intelligence to raid the Separatist base and free the prisoners.
