Spelunker probe droids were a type of probe droid. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Punitive Security Forces of the Separatist Commerce Guild deployed converted Spelunker probe droids to provide reconnaissance and carry out sabotage.[1]
Behind the scenes
Spelunker probe droids were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[1] The droids originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in Clone Wars Chapter 14, the fourteenth episode of the 2004 television show Star Wars: Clone Wars.[2] The droids were then first named as spelunker probe droids within Legends in the 2006 reference book The New Essential Guide to Droids, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[3]
