The Sprizen sector was a sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories that contained the planet Abafar.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Sprizen sector first appeared in The Keeper's World, a serialized Star Wars Legends comic story published through nine issue of Marvel Comics' magazine Pizzazz from October 1977 to June 1978.[4] It was first identified in The Essential Atlas Online Companion, a series of articles on StarWars.com published in the wake of the release of the Star Wars Legends reference book The Essential Atlas by its authors Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace.[5]
The Sprizen sector became canon when it appeared in "A Sunny Day in the Void," the eleventh episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' fifth season.[6] Its name was made canon by Ultimate Star Wars, a reference book co-written by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham[1] that was released on April 28, 2015.[7] In 2024, an updated version of that book, Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, incorrectly listed Abafar as belonging to the Quellii sector.[8]
