Squids were able to spit out clouds of ink as a defensive measure. Types of squids included star squids, Utapaun flying squids, and scum-squids.

The Trident-class assault ship was shaped like a squid, and the bongo submarine used by the Gungans of Naboo resembled an exotic Nabooan squid or similar creature of the deep. Although they were humanoid, the Quarren of Mon Cala had squid-like traits, and were sometimes rudely called "Squid-Heads."
