The Stalgasin hive spire was a prominent structure in Geonosis' capital city, as it was home to the ruling hive of the planet.

Description

As all Geonosian spires, the Stalgasin hive spire was a tall, hollowed-out rock formation constructed by the Geonosians and used as hive-mounds.

The spire was built by the Geonosians as both permanent hive dwellings and as temporary refuge from the planet's dangerous radiation storms. Geonosian workers constructed the vast tower from a rocky paste substance; which in turn was derived from a mix of crushed stone and the excrement of parasites called Phidna.

History

The Stalgasin tower served as the capital of the ruling Geonosian hive for centuries before the beginning of the Clone Wars, where huge droid foundries were built.

It was one of the most important buildings of the Separatist Alliance as it produced most of the battle droids used in the early stages by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Being the capital building of Geonosis, it also functioned as the first capital of the Confederacy, housing the Separatist Council.
