A standard month,[2] also referred to simply as a month, was a period of time that spanned several standard weeks.[1] A year was made up of twelve months.[3]
Certain events were often held at set times of a month. On Cynda, the moon of the Inner Rim planet Gorse, blood cultists would appear once a month, during a full moon, for blood sacrifices.[4] The Q'anah was held on the planet Asmeru once per year on the 234th day of the 16th month on the Asmeru calendar.[5] On Batuu, a month was made up of 30 days.[6]
Behind the scenes[]
When asked by a fan how long one should assume the years of the Star Wars galaxy are, Pablo Hidalgo advised to go with twelve.[7] Although Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 61 claimed that a year was made up of ten months with Coruscant as its basis,[8] author Charles Soule affirmed that, in Star Wars, years are made up of twelve months.[3]
