The Republic Sienar Systems Star Courier was a small transport design with a limited production run.
History[]
The Star Courier was designed by the famed ship designer Rugess Nome, the public persona of Darth Tenebrous. Nome partnered with Santhe/Sienar Technologies who would built the ships for him. The most famous of these ships was the Scimitar, a modified vessel that was designed for a mysterious client, later revealed to have been the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Upon its completion, Raith Sienar delivered it to Darth Plagueis's fortress on Soujourn. When Soujourn was nuked by forces in league with the King of Naboo Ars Veruna, Plagueis used the Scimitar to escape and rendezvous with Jabba's yacht while cloaked.[1] It was then passed on to Sidious who gave it to his apprentice, Darth Maul, and later on, Sidious's second apprentice, Darth Tyranus. After the end of the Clone Wars, the vessel was taken by Emperor Palpatine and given to the Inquisitor Valin Draco.[5]
Other vessels were in use by several darksiders over the years, with the Dathomiri Nightsister Yansu Grjak using one during the Clone Wars.[6] The Dark Jedi Garth Ezzar also owned one.[4] Emperor Palpatine owned one during the Ghost Prison incident.[7]
