Continuity[]
Complete Vehicles states that the Separatists only took on the name "Confederacy of Independent Systems" at some point before the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[2] However, the 2014 novel Tarkin used the name when referring to the Separatists weeks before the First Battle of Geonosis. In a conversation set several weeks prior to the battle, Count Dooku and Wilhuff Tarkin also use the terms "Confederate" and "Confederacy."[3] The 2017 reference book Star Wars: On the Front Lines had also used the name to refer to the Separatists during the events of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[4] This article assumes Complete Vehicles is incorrect.
