An official 3-part Star Wars: The Force Awakens animated high speed recap video, created by Hideo Itoyanagi, was released in Japan in the lead-up to the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The characters in the video have been drawn to resemble the shape of BB-8. Later, the whole animation was released in one video.[3]
Eventually on August 7, 2019, it was revealed on The Star Wars Show, that Itoyanagi would create an original series of shorts animated in the same style for the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel, called Star Wars Roll Out.[2]
