Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine is a high fidelity, cinematic virtual reality experiment set in the Star Wars universe. Created by ILMxLAB and released on July 18, 2016, the game was developed under the guidance of Rob Bredow, chief technology officer at Lucasfilm Ltd., and co-written by Bredow and Pablo Hidalgo, Star Wars canon-keeper.

It takes place after Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, with the player taking the role of an aspiring Padawan hoping to join Luke Skywalker in his effort to rebuild the Jedi Order.[1]
