Plot summary[]

On Strokill Prime, while the rebels attempt to free King Lee-Char from an ultra-security prison, Han expresses his frustration at rescuing a king who is so weak. Lee-Char awakens and tells the rebels to carry his words to his people. Meanwhile, at the Moncaladrome, the impersonator Tunga, disguised as the Moff, and C-3PO recite a play to buy the rebels time, which amuses Queen Trios.

Suddenly, stormtroopers appear at the opera and expose Tunga as a fraud, forcing him and the droids to make a hasty escape on a ship as Urtya watches. On Strokill Prime, as the King finishes recording a message, stormtroopers attack. Chewbacca takes out many of the troopers, but the King and the real Moff are shot in the process. The rebels escape in their submersible and blast into hyperspace.

Both rebel groups reunite at a deserted cove, but Urtya and his guards appear. Urtya uses a stun ray on Leia and takes the King's recording, stating that while he sympathizes with the Rebellion, the decision is not theirs to make.

Later, in the regency of Mon Cala, Urtya orders the evacuation of his staff and opens a channel to the fleet. The Mon Cala fleet captains receive the recording of King Lee-Char. In the video, the King gives a rousing speech about the evils of the Empire before being gunned down by stormtroopers. This act of violence inspires the fleet to mutiny against the Empire.

Aboard the Millennium Falcon, the rebels receive word that the Mon Calamari are rebelling on their ships and that the Empire is sending its fleet to respond. Leia worries that the Mon Calamari will all be killed as a result.
