{{Quote|I was determined to get Ewoks into this miniseries, although I think there was some concern that they would appear too cutesy. As soon as I heard that Robert Hack would be our guest artist, I knew that there was no need to worry. One thing I did highlight earlier in the script was that these Ewoks would ideally look as near as possible to the murderous little critters in ''Return of the Jedi'', complete with their black eyes rather than more cartoon-like eyes as seen in the '80s cartoon or ''Caravan of Courage''. Although you'll find plenty of little references to ''Caravan'' in our story!|Cavan Scott|url=https://www.starwars.com/news/the-spooky-secrets-of-idws-tales-from-vaders-castle}}

Tales from Vader's Castle 4: Night of the Gorax is the fourth issue of comic book miniseries Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Vader's Castle. The comic was written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Derek Charm and Robert Hack, and released on October 24, 2018 by IDW Publishing.

Development

Writer Cavan Scott's initial plan for the issue was to focus on Wicket W. Warrick and Teebo. When the story's timeline placement was decided to be pre-Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it was suggested by Lucasfilm to make Chirpa and Logray the protagonists before they became Chief and Shaman.[2]

The comic was illustrated by guest artist Robert Hack, who is known for illustrating the classic Archie Horror comics. Inspired by Hack's inks, colorist Charlie Kirchoff developed a striking design with three color schemes, each using a limited palette.[2]

Continuity

Tales from Vader's Castle 4 makes several references to the 1984 TV movie Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and 1985 Ewoks cartoon,[2] including mentions of Chukha-Trok, Ra-Lee, Duloks, Wisties, boar-wolves, and the titular Gorax.[3]
