Star Wars Adventures Ashcan

Star Wars Adventures Ashcan is a special preview issue of the Star Wars Adventures series of comics aimed at the "next generation of comic book fans." It was released digitally on July 12, 2017 at StarWars.com and physically at San Diego Comic-Con. The stories featured in this issue were not reprinted until Star Wars Adventures, Volume 1: Heroes of the Galaxy.^[4]

"The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku" refers to the prologue as taking place 50 years prior to the main story. The prologue takes place in between "The Wrong Jedi" and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, both of which are placed in 19 ABY by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. Therefore the prologue takes place in 19 BBY, the main story takes place around 31 ABY, and the earliest that Star Wars Adventures Ashcan can be set is 31 ABY. However, according to Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, R2-D2 was shut down during the Destruction of the Jedi Temple and didn't get re-activated until the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY. Therefore, the earliest Star Wars Adventures Ashcan can be set is 34 ABY.
